Rules for Using Cleanup

These Terms govern your use of the Cleanup iOS application and related legal pages. By using the app, you agree to these Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.

1. Service Description

Cleanup is an iOS utility app that currently includes the following feature areas:

  • Photo-library scanning and cleanup suggestions for duplicates, similar items, screenshots, videos, and other categories.
  • Video compression with the option to save compressed copies back to Photos.
  • Private Space for storing selected photos and videos inside app-local storage behind an app PIN and optional biometrics.
  • Contacts review for duplicate or incomplete entries.
  • Charging animation playback that works with an iOS Shortcuts automation configured by the user.
  • Optional paid subscriptions that unlock premium features.
Charging feature clarification

The charging-animation workflow is designed to open the app into a full-screen animation after you configure a Shortcuts automation. It does not claim to replace the iOS system wallpaper.

2. Eligibility and Device Responsibility

You may use Cleanup only if you can form a binding agreement under the law that applies to you. If you are under the age of majority where you live, use the app only with permission from a parent or legal guardian.

Cleanup does not currently require a separate in-app account. You are responsible for maintaining control of your device, Apple ID purchase settings, system permissions, and any personal content that you decide to review, export, compress, or delete.

3. Subscription Terms

Cleanup offers auto-renewing subscriptions through Apple’s in-app purchase system. The current product configuration reviewed in code references:

  • A weekly plan with a fallback display price of $9.99 per week.
  • A yearly plan with a fallback display price of $39.99 per year.
  • Paywall flows that reference a 7-day free trial on eligible offers.

The price shown in the App Store purchase sheet at checkout controls if it differs because of region, tax, promotion, or StoreKit localization. Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel through your Apple account settings at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period.

Apple handles billing, renewals, and refunds subject to Apple’s own terms and policies. Cleanup also includes a restore-purchases flow so you can re-check entitlements on the same Apple account.

4. Your Responsibilities

  • Use the app lawfully and only for content and contacts you are authorized to manage.
  • Review deletion, export, or compression actions before confirming them.
  • Keep your own backup strategy for important photos, videos, contacts, and documents.
  • Use accurate payment and Apple account information for purchases.
  • Do not interfere with the app, abuse APIs or network endpoints, or attempt unauthorized access to related systems.

Cleanup is a utility tool. It can help organize content, but the final decision to remove or keep any item is yours.

5. Intellectual Property

The Cleanup app, its software, layouts, text, branding, design assets, and charging-animation catalog presentation are owned by the publisher or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

You keep ownership of your own photos, videos, contacts, and other personal content. These Terms do not transfer ownership of your content to the app publisher.

6. Third-Party Services and Platforms

Cleanup relies on Apple system frameworks and may use third-party SDKs or infrastructure providers such as Adjust, Meta, and Firebase. Your use of those components can also be subject to the terms and privacy practices of the relevant provider.

App Store purchases, payment processing, subscription renewals, and many device-level permissions are controlled by Apple rather than Cleanup.

7. Disclaimers

  • Cleanup is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
  • Cleanup suggestions are based on local analysis rules and heuristics. They are not guarantees that an item is safe to remove for every user.
  • The app may not identify every duplicate, every similar item, or every contact issue.
  • Charging animations depend on Apple Shortcuts automation and platform behavior, which may change outside our control.
  • Private Space is intended as an app-level organizational feature and is not a replacement for full-device security, backups, or specialized secure-storage products.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the app publisher will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, data, or use arising from your use of Cleanup.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the total liability of the app publisher for claims arising out of or relating to Cleanup will not exceed the greater of:

  • the amount you paid for Cleanup subscriptions in the 12 months before the claim arose, or
  • USD $50.

This limitation does not exclude liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, or any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

9. Suspension and Termination

We may suspend or limit access to all or part of Cleanup if reasonably necessary to protect the app, comply with law, respond to abuse, investigate suspected misconduct, or maintain service integrity.

You can stop using Cleanup at any time by uninstalling the app. If you cancel a subscription, paid access normally remains active until the end of the current billing period.

10. Governing Law

Unless mandatory law in your location requires otherwise, these Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where the operator that publishes Cleanup is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

If a court of competent jurisdiction finds part of these Terms unenforceable, the remaining parts stay in effect.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms when the app, business model, or legal requirements change. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date.
